Ann Francis
Michigan Super Organizer!

Ann Francis

When the Cluster Bomb Survivors Tour arrived in Lansing on October 10, Ann Francis and her fellow organizers were ready. Over the previous three months, they had worked to build the Michigan Campaign to Ban Cluster Bombs with the peace network in Lansing and East Lansing and had already sent in hundreds of postcards to Michigan Senator Carl Levin urging his co-sponsorship of the Cluster Munitions Civilian Protection Act (S. 594).

The Lansing organizers did extensive media outreach for the Cluster Bomb Survivors Tour, resulting in proclamations by the Mayor of Lansing and the East Lansing City Council, two primetime radio interviews, and several newspaper articles.

Ann has worked vigorously for civil rights and against war for the last 40 years. She honed the necessary skills during a long career at General Motors, membership in the Red Cedar Friends Meeting and the Greater Lansing Network Against War & Injustice, PhD work in Human and Organization Development, and a black belt in karate!
