Remembering and Responding to 9/11
Calls for Demining, Ban on Clusters

On the 7th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, campaigners on both coasts of the country are working to protect other innocent civilians from wrongful deaths.

Some members of 9/11 Families for Peaceful Tomorrows are endorsing the global ban on cluster bombs as part of their effort to turn grief into concrete action for peace.   Several will participate in a NY based event on 9/12 to endorse the global efforts to ban cluster bombs.  Read more.

Roots of Peace, an organization dedicated to clearing landmines and restoring earth to productive use, has organized a series of events in California to commemorate the tragic anniversary  The organization has inspired children worldwide, who have collected over 25 million “pennies for peace” to rebuild schools and soccer fields in war-torn regions of Afghanistan.  Roots of Peace is on the steering committee of the USCBL.  Find out more about its 9/11 tribute.
